Job summary

Cumming Group in Arlington, VA, seeks a Development Manager/Senior Project Manager to lead real estate development projects from concept through occupancy, with a focus on ultra-luxury residential and estate work in the DMV area.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk, coordinate architects and engineers, guide client relationships, and ensure delivery excellence across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of proven excellence in commercial real estate development management, project management, design, engineering, and/or construction.
• Minimum 5+ years directly managing luxury residential developments valued at $40M+.
• Bachelor’s degree as specified in the Education section.
• Willingness to travel domestically (approximately 10–25%).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of one or more real estate development projects, from concept through completion.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk for the project.
• Oversee entitlement, permitting, and agency coordination processes.
• Manage design teams, including architects, engineers, and specialty consultants.
• Review and evaluate cost estimates, value engineering options, and contractor proposals.
• Provide construction management oversight, including cost, schedule, quality, and risk control.
