Job summary

Cumming Group, a leading project and cost management consultancy, seeks a Development Manager in Seattle, WA. You will lead development projects from concept through closeout, coordinating internal teams and external consultants to meet client objectives.

This role requires 5+ years in CRE delivery, strong leadership, and excellent communication. Travel 10–25% is anticipated, with salary ranging from $150,000 to $185,000 per year, based on experience and project scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate development management, project management, design, engineering, and/or construction.
• Experience delivering large-scale, complex development projects.
• Willingness to travel domestically (approximately 10-25%).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day execution of one or more development projects from concept to completion under leadership.
• Define technical and financial project scope; manage budgets, schedules, and delivery plans.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets with cash flow tracking.
• Oversee entitlement, permitting, and agency coordination processes.
• Lead design teams including architects, engineers, and consultants.
• Review cost estimates and contractor proposals; explore value engineering options.
• Negotiate and administer consultant and construction contracts.
• Provide construction management oversight for cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
• Lead day-to-day client meetings; escalate risks and issues to senior leadership.
• Serve as primary client contact; align project execution with client objectives.
• Identify and resolve project risks and conflicts; pursue opportunities for repeat business.
