Job summary

Bedrock Ocean Exploration seeks a versatile offshore operations leader to own UK survey delivery. You will manage Bedrock-trained contractor crews, run live survey operations when needed, and help stand up training and certification for new crews.

The role blends fieldwork with remote oversight and logistics across the UK and Europe. You’ll oversee safety and data quality, coordinate equipment mobilization, and contribute to continuous improvement of operations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating marine technologies, ideally AUVs, in offshore settings.
• History leading field crews or technicians in maritime environments.
• Ability to train and supervise contractors, with hands-on coaching in the field.
• Comfort teaching or mentoring in practical courses and on-the-job sessions.
• Ability to switch between hands-on survey work and remote crew oversight.
• Experience managing contractor relationships in offshore/maritime contexts.
• Strong communication skills linking crews, clients, and Bedrock teams.
• Willingness to travel within the UK/Europe and relocate to the UK if needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee active survey jobs carried out by Bedrock-trained contractor crews in the UK, ensuring safety and data quality.
• Serve as primary escalation point for crews during live operations and troubleshoot equipment.
• Step in to perform survey operations when extra hands are needed or complex tasks arise.
• Support delivery of contractor training and certification through hands-on modules and assessments.
• Assist onboarding of new crews and verify field readiness before deployment.
• Coordinate equipment mobilization, logistics, and regional vessel arrangements as required.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor fabrication on survey gear to stay field-ready.
• Provide regular status updates to the Ops team and clients.
