This role provides advanced technical support and oversight for remote survey operations on Oceaneering OPG projects, drilling rigs, and other opportunity vessels, including the setup and integration of remotely operated equipment. The Lead acts as a subject matter expert and mentor within the team, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This role provides advanced technical support and oversight for remote survey operations on Oceaneering OPG projects, drilling rigs, and other opportunity vessels, including the setup and integration of remotely operated equipment. The Lead acts as a subject matter expert and mentor within the team, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This role is a US-based position located in Morgan City, LA, and requires a daily on-site work schedule. Requires employee to be capable of traveling to various locations as required for business needs. Also requires to be able to support nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead remote monitoring and support for offshore vessels conducting survey tasks, ensuring adherence to best practices and project requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate 12-hour operational rotations from the shore station, providing guidance and troubleshooting for junior surveyors.
  • Operate and optimize PC-based navigation systems, delivering advanced guidance and quality control to offshore teams.
  • Temporarily relocate to alternate sites as needed for operational contingencies or project leadership.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for offshore employees, facilitating clear communication and safe work procedures.
  • Champion HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) and quality performance, driving compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training for OII and client-specific safety and quality requirements.
  • Participate in and help shape the Oceaneering Competency Management Program, mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Manage complex job tasks and project deliverables as requested by clients or project managers.
  • Proactively identify and report unsafe conditions or practices, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Oversee the care, safety, and deployment of company equipment, including installation of survey equipment on ocean-going vessels.
  • Lead or contribute to technical investigations, process improvements, and innovation initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support organizational objectives.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (3) Plus+ Years in an offshore Survey or Marine Construction related field
  • Must have or be able to obtain TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Must have computer skills

DESIRED

  • Two-year technical degree or University degree
  • Understanding Geomatics and surveying best practices
  • Five (7) pluses+ years in offshore Survey or Marine Construction related field
  • Understanding of navigation, positioning and acoustic surveying
  • Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese)
