Job summary

Niyam IT in the United States is seeking a UI/UX Developer to join our team in support of a federal client. This role designs intuitive, user-centered interfaces for legacy and modernized systems, collaborating with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on design and technical leadership to deliver accessible, scalable solutions aligned with mission objectives. Hybrid work in Ashburn, VA 1-2 days per week, with mentoring and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• 5 years of professional UI/UX design experience.
• On-site work requirement in Ashburn, VA 1-2 days per week.
• Proficient in React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and UI libraries such as Kendo UI.
• Experience with Java/Spring Frameworks and modern tech (PostgreSQL, AWS).
• CI/CD experience with GitLab/Jenkins/Harness/Bamboo.
• Experience building responsive, accessible web apps (mobile-first).
• Strong collaboration in Agile environments; ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within an Agile team to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible interfaces across apps.
• Lead consistency of look-and-feel and design standards across applications.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design artifacts for communication.
• Define and maintain UI component libraries, layouts, and style guides.
• Evaluate requirements with business and technical stakeholders and propose improvements.
• Ensure timely delivery and quality of UI/UX solutions; provide guidance as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in design and development.
