Abbott in Sylmar, CA is seeking an experienced UI Production Designer to bridge design and development for a mobile app design initiative. You will collaborate with product and engineering to ensure production-ready visuals and detailed developer handoffs.

The role emphasizes design system oversight and evolving guidelines, with hands-on work in Figma, component libraries, and cross-functional workflows. A BS in CS or design-related field is preferred, with at least 4 years of relevant

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience bridging design and development.
• Experience with Figma file management, components and collaboration features.
• Experience with design system maintenance and evolution.
• Strong communication across teams and disciplines.
• Proactive in identifying process improvements and practical solutions.
• Passion for delivering high-quality user experiences with a user-centered approach.
• Web app development experience (AWS, PostgreSQL, Figma, Github).

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed, well-documented design specifications for product features and act as the main contact for design questions during development.
• Collaborate with product designers, managers, and engineers to define necessary design details for a consistent UX.
• Critically review design concepts for component usage and translate designs into production-ready documentation.
• Help evolve and refine the design system, UX guidelines, and processes; train users to increase utilization.
• Create, revise, and maintain design files and handoff files; manage changes in Figma for smooth updates.
