Job summary

The Hollister Group in Boston is seeking an experienced full‑stack engineer to own and evolve a flagship portfolio management and decomposition platform. You will build fast, scalable tools that drive real-time investment decisions and work across Python, TypeScript, and React to deliver robust, cloud-ready solutions.

You will design backend systems with Python, Ray, and Pandas/Polars, optimize performance, and collaborate with quants, PMs, and engineers to refine investment workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 4-6 years of full-stack development experience with production systems.
• Strong front-end skills with TypeScript, HTML/CSS, React; component design, state management, performance for data-heavy views.
• Hands-on experience with Material UI (MUI) and MUI X for UI and visualizations.
• Strong backend skills with Python, Ray, FastAPI, and Pandas/Polars; API design and databases (relational and non-relational).
• Experience optimizing systems for performance, scalability, and cloud deployment.
• Ability to collaborate well in a team and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Some investment domain knowledge in portfolio decomposition or attribution is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and enhance tools that attribute drivers of portfolio positions, returns, and risk to models.
• Develop full-stack applications using Python, TypeScript, and React for speed and maintainability.
• Design and implement backend systems with Python, Ray, and databases for high-performance data processing.
• Create cloud-ready, modular solutions that are easy to maintain as investment needs evolve.
• Work with data structures and APIs for fast access to portfolio insights.
• Align tools with investment workflows by collaborating with PMs, quants, and engineers.
• Contribute to research to improve the investment process informed by attribution systems.
