Job summary

Air Products is seeking an Ultra High Purity (UHP) Project Engineer for the West Customer Engineering Operations team in the Greater Phoenix, AZ area. You will manage complex UHP gas delivery system projects for semiconductor/electronics clients throughout the full lifecycle, from proposal through turnover.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, technical excellence, and customer-focused solutions, with occasional domestic travel (5–10%).

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of project engineering experience.
• Experience managing contractors, tracking schedule and budget.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic CAD/drafting understanding.
• Financial analysis and ability to interpret customer tech.
• Experience with Ultra High Purity gas delivery systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and complete UHP industrial gas delivery system projects across all phases.
• Build RFQs, evaluate bids, and manage contractor scope and timelines.
• Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and BOMs.
• Create equipment layouts and system flow diagrams.
• Support sales by translating customer requirements into engineered solutions.
• Monitor progress against schedule, budget, and contract requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers/suppliers.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.
