Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Night shift in the Intermediate Care Unit. This role supports licensed staff by assisting with admissions, transfers, discharges, and routine patient care tasks.

Duties include recording vital signs, aiding in personal hygiene, preparing patients for procedures, maintaining a clean, safe environment, and reporting changes to the RN promptly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assist the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Record the vital signs and assist in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures.
• Record oral intake and outputs and monitor temperature, blood pressure, and other monitoring.
• Assist in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients; maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate with RN regarding nutrition issues and changes in patient understanding.
• Support department operations and answer patient call bells.
