Job Description:
Summary:

This student will support the Antiracist Research & Policy Center (ARPC) "Chocolate City Speaks" oral history project and the ARPC’s COUNTERNARRATIVES oral history project. They will collaborate both with the ARPC director and the ARPC’s contracted expert in the oral histories that we are studying.

Essential Functions:
  • Conducting background research on minoritized populations in DC and the effects of gentrification on those populations.
  • Working with the contracted expert to locate and schedule ethnographic interviews with key artistic and political figures in a range of pre-gentrification minoritized communities.
  • Working with the contracted expert and director to record, store, and promote the oral histories.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Part-time.
  • 5 hours per week.
Salary Range:
  • $18.40 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Student must have an active Federal Work Study (FWS) award.
