Job summary

Insitu seeks a Flight Test Engineer to plan, execute, and analyze flight and ground tests for UAV systems. You will define test objectives, operate test articles and instrumentation, and ensure performance meets requirements.

The role involves hands-on hardware work, hazard analysis, and frequent cross‑functional collaboration to drive improvements. You may act as Test Conductor and Pilot In Command, with opportunities to influence test strategies and contribute to safety and reliability across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science and 2–4 years engineering experience or 0–2 years with a Master’s.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work hands-on with UAV hardware.
• Experience with test plans, hazard analysis, and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and refine test objectives across multiple platforms.
• Operate test articles, instrumentation, and hazard analysis.
• Contribute as Test Conductor, often as Pilot In Command.
• Write flight test reports and assist in troubleshooting and investigations.
• Translate results into actionable recommendations.
