Job summary

Ideal Aerosmith is seeking a UAS Pilot to join its flight operations team in Maryland. You will support developmental flight testing, aircraft production, and customer demonstrations for Group 2 and Group 3 fixed-wing UAS, applying hands-on piloting skills and rigorous aviation discipline.

The role requires FAA Part 107 certification, ability to travel domestically and internationally, and collaboration with engineering and production to ensure flight-readiness and successful deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of UAS, aviation, or flight-test experience.
• Demonstrated flight experience with Group 2 and Group 3 fixed-wing UAS.
• Proficiency flying with RC transmitters or external controls.
• Experience supporting developmental flight tests and flight operations.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a UAS Pilot for Group 2 and Group 3 fixed-wing aircraft during testing and demonstrations.
• Manually operate fixed-wing UAS during launch, recovery, and flight test scenarios.
• Support final aircraft assembly, integration, and flight-readiness verification.
• Conduct ground checks, pre-flight and post-flight inspections, and discrepancy resolution.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to troubleshoot and implement improvements.
• Provide feedback to engineering during aircraft development and testing.
• Assist with system integration, maintenance, and configuration changes.
• Prepare flight procedures, checklists, and flight-test documentation.
• Support customer demos, field deployments, and flight operations overall.
• Ensure compliance with safety, procedures, and regulatory guidance.
