Job summary

Intrepid Prosperity is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate mechanical systems for UAS. You will develop airframe structures, payload mounts and integration hardware while performing CAD work and analysis in a fast-paced R&D environment.

You will collaborate with electronics, software and supply chain teams, support flight-test events, and lead root-cause analysis on mechanical issues, ensuring designs can be built reliably at rate. Onsite at our Tampa facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in UAS, aerospace, defense, robotics or similar hardware R&D.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and production drawings with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop UAS mechanical components, airframes, mounts and enclosures.
• Create 3D models and fully toleranced 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Perform structural, weight, thermal analyses to support design decisions.
• Lead design for manufacture with subcontract manufacturers.
• Build and integrate payloads and subsystems on UAVs.
• Plan tests and document results; support flight tests on site.
