Job summary

Obsidian Solutions Group LLC in Fredericksburg, VA, seeks a Mechanical Assembler for a high-volume unmanned aircraft system production program on a 23-month contract. Candidates will assemble structural frames, motors, and subassemblies following strict work instructions and quality requirements.

Responsibilities include drilling, inserting threaded inserts, applying epoxies and threadlockers, and performing in-process inspections.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow written work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precision assembly.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
• Basic computer skills for production records and work orders.
• Preferred aerospace/manufacturing assembly experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble UAS structural and mechanical components per documented instructions.
• Drill components and install threaded inserts.
• Apply epoxy, threadlocker, and other assembly materials.
• Assemble frames, arms, mounts, and related hardware.
• Install motors, wiring, and panel connectors.
• Use manual and powered tools and verify alignment and workmanship.
• Record progress on travelers and maintain part traceability.
• Identify damaged or incorrect components and notify leadership.
