Job summary

Griffon Aerospace in Madison, Alabama, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II/III to advance quality and process implementation on our UAS production lines, ensuring AS9100/ISO9001 compliance and robust First Article Inspection protocols.

You will lead design-for-manufacture assessments, establish repeatable processes, and drive automation to reduce variability in harnesses, soldering, and bonding, partnering with R&D and production.

Qualifications

• 2–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Medical Device, or Automotive).
• BS in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong mastery of PFMEA, Control Plans, and Gauge R&R.
• Ability to interpret GD&T and complex IPC-620 electrical standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end manufacturing flows for airframe integration and avionics assembly.
• Lead deployment of AS9100 or ISO9001 standards on the shop floor. Establish First Article Inspection (FAI) protocols for complex electrical assemblies.
• DFM/DFA leadership by reviewing designs for manufacturability, focusing on error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) and assembly repeatability.
• Monitor production data to identify trends and reduce variability in harness crimping, soldering, and structural bonding.
• Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for automation in testing and assembly to reduce human error in critical flight-path components.
