Job summary

Check Defense, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead all UAS maintenance operations for a U.S. Army training contract at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

The role requires directing maintenance planning, personnel leadership, and adherence to Army regulations and manufacturer guidance to maximize aircraft readiness. The successful candidate will oversee a team of maintainers, supply personnel, and supervisors, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all maintenance activities and

Qualifications

• US citizen required
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
• 8+ years of aviation or UAS maintenance experience
• 5+ years of maintenance supervision/management experience in military, government, or commercial aviation
• Experience managing maintenance programs involving aircraft readiness, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary maintenance teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs, scheduling, and QA
• Proficient with MS Office and maintenance management systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee all organizational-level UAS maintenance activities.
• Ensure aircraft and support equipment remain fully mission-capable.
• Develop maintenance schedules and coordinate inspections and repairs.
• Monitor readiness rates and maintenance performance metrics.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor technicians and supervisors.
• Develop staffing plans and assist with recruiting and retention.
• Ensure personnel maintain required certifications and training.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.
• Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely parts availability.
• Support Government inspections and readiness evaluations.
