Job summary

Performance Drone Works (PDW) in Huntsville, AL seeks an Instruction Designer & Curriculum Developer to translate complex unmanned systems into practical training for operators and customers. You will design curricula for UAS, payloads, software, and related technologies, producing lesson plans, guides, and eLearning to enable safe, confident product use.

You will collaborate with engineers and SMEs to create learner‑focused content, ensure alignment with technical publications and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3–5 years of instructional design, curriculum development, or technical training for complex technical products.
• Experience developing technical documents and training materials (lesson plans, guides, presentations, exercises, assessments, eLearning).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills to translate complex information for learners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and content management/version control tools (SharePoint, GitLab, LMS).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain technical training curricula for UAS, payloads, software, and related technologies.
• Create training materials including lesson plans, guides, presentations, exercises, assessments, and eLearning content.
• Collaborate with engineers, writers, trainers, and SMEs to translate complex information into clear learning experiences.
• Ensure materials align with publications, changes, product updates, safety requirements, and procedures.
• Evaluate and improve curriculum through feedback, observations, assessments, and new product releases.
