Position Overview

OWT Global is seeking a UAS Airspace Integration Lead to direct the planning, integration, fielding, and operational execution of the Collaborative Low-Altitude UAS Integration Effort (CLUE) and related UAS airspace-integration capabilities across the U.S. Air Forces in Europe–Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) area of responsibility. The selected individual will serve as the primary operational and program interface among USAFE-AFAFRICA headquarters, installation stakeholders, engineers, fielding teams, and mission partners. This role combines senior-level airspace expertise and program leadership with hands-on support to install, integrate, test, train, and sustain fielded capabilities. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Air Traffic Control, Airfield Operations, Air Battle Management, Airspace Management, rated aviation, UAS operations, or a closely related field, along with the technical aptitude to integrate systems, troubleshoot networks, and operate effectively in dynamic mission environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of CLUE, UAS airspace integration, airspace awareness, unmanned traffic management (UTM), and related counter-UAS initiatives from requirements development through fielding and sustainment.
  • Serve as the operational subject-matter expert for airspace management, deconfliction, airfield integration, range operations, and the integration of manned and unmanned aviation activities.
  • Translate operational needs into executable technical, programmatic, and fielding plans, including schedules, milestones, risks, resource requirements, and performance measures.
  • Oversee and personally support site surveys, system installation, configuration, integration, operational testing, acceptance, and initial operator training as required.
  • Integrate cooperative and non-cooperative UAS data—including telemetry, ADS-B, Remote ID, radar, RF, and EO/IR sources—into a unified common operating picture, including TAK- and UTM-enabled environments.
  • Integrate authoritative airspace, mission-planning, flight-scheduling, and range-scheduling data into installation planning and operational workflows.
  • Coordinate with USAFE-AFAFRICA headquarters organizations, including applicable A3 and A4 stakeholders, as well as wing and group leadership, Air Traffic Control, Airfield Management, Command Post, Base Defense Operations Centers, range personnel, and operational units.
  • Integrate and operationalize UTM and airspace-management frameworks for cooperative and non-cooperative UAS operating in controlled, restricted, range, and installation airspace.
  • Lead and synchronize cross-functional teams, including engineering, logistics, field service engineers, installation-level SMEs, vendors, and government mission partners.
  • Develop and maintain CONOPS, CONEMPs, SOPs, quick-reference guides, TTPs, training materials, site documentation, and other operational or technical products supporting fielded capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with flight safety, airfield and range safety requirements, airspace control measures, cybersecurity requirements, and applicable DoD, Department of the Air Force, USAFE-AFAFRICA, and host-nation directives.
  • Conduct operational assessments; collect user feedback, performance data, and lessons learned; and recommend improvements to systems, training, procedures, and enterprise fielding approaches.
  • Provide executive-level briefings, status reporting, risk assessments, and decision support to OWT leadership, government program stakeholders, and installation leadership.
  • Mentor and coordinate field engineers, operators, and installation SMEs supporting CLUE deployment, operations, training, and sustainment.
  • Support capture and growth activities by identifying emerging mission needs, contributing operational expertise, and advising on concepts of employment and operations.
Required Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of experience in military aviation, air operations, airspace management, UAS operations, or a closely related operational field.
  • Demonstrated experience with airspace management, airspace coordination, and deconfliction in controlled, restricted, range, or installation airspace.
  • Working knowledge of small UAS operations and the integration of UAS activity with manned aviation, Air Traffic Control, Airfield Management, or installation operations.
  • Experience fielding, integrating, testing, or sustaining systems and sensors in operational environments.
  • Proven ability to lead complex efforts involving multiple organizations, technical disciplines, and geographically dispersed stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into technical plans, fielding activities, training, procedures, and senior-leader decision products.
  • Ability to travel 30–40% throughout the USAFE-AFAFRICA area of responsibility and to CONUS locations as mission requirements dictate.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively in dynamic, mission-driven environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience at a MAJCOM, Numbered Air Force, Air Operations Center, component headquarters, Combatant Command, or equivalent senior-level operational staff.
  • Senior-level operational aviation experience in Air Traffic Control, airspace management, airfield operations, rated aviation, UAS operations, range operations, aviation safety, air defense, or counter-UAS operations.
  • Experience coordinating with Air Force A2/3/5, A3, A4, A5, or A6 staffs; flying wings; operations groups; special operations or rescue units; range organizations; the FAA; NATO partners; or host-nation aviation authorities.
  • Experience leading or supporting deconfliction among fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and unmanned aircraft.
  • Experience with UAS or counter-UAS operations, UTM concepts or systems, and emerging airspace-management technologies.
  • Familiarity with TAK (ATAK/WinTAK) or comparable common-operating-picture environments.
  • Experience in Air Force, joint, NATO, special operations, or multi-domain operations.
