Responsibilities

This role is embedded in The Recovery Center (TRC) which provides court ordered care in Cortez, CO and surrounding communities. We provide behavioral health services, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and psychiatric care helping patients discover their purpose and build a healthy community. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) / UA Collector to join our growing team in a fast-paced, dynamic medical setting. This entry-level position offers comprehensive training and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of patients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As a Patient Care Coordinator and UA Collector, you will be trained to support the professional medical staff and help manage clinic operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Collecting Urine Drug Screens: This role primarily collects observed urine samples in our lab and documents in our medical record system.
• Patient Scheduling: Coordinate patient appointments and ensure timely and accurate scheduling.
• Collecting Vitals & Patient Information: Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) and gather essential patient information.
• Phone Handling & Patient Interaction: Answer phone calls, assist patients with inquiries, and provide direction as needed.
• Patient Registration: Admit and register patients into the clinic system, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
• Data & Record Keeping: Accurately input patient data into the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system and maintain updated patient files.
• Facility Maintenance: Assist with building upkeep, cleaning, and ensuring the clinic environment is safe and welcoming.
• Communication with Medical Staff: Relay information between patients and medical providers, ensuring smooth communication and efficient care.
• Customer Service & Patient-Centered Care: Provide exceptional service to patients by assisting with inquiries, directing them to appropriate services, and fostering a compassionate and supportive clinic atmosphere.
• Crisis Management & De-escalation: Demonstrate competency in verbal de-escalation, crisis intervention techniques, and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and a safe work environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous Experience: Experience in a medical clinic or addiction treatment setting is preferred. However, willingness to learn and grow in the field is equally valued.
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience can substitute for educational requirements in some cases.
• Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, including proficiency with office software and EHR systems.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation is required for commuting to the clinic.
• Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
• Dependability: Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license is required.

Job Type:

• Full Time M-F 11am-7pm Saturday and Sunday 1:30-7:00pm (The days/hours will vary every week)
