Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a CDL Driver to join its organization. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Pick up materials, deliver to the intended destination in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring materials arrive safely and intact.
  2. Verify the count of materials picked up and note any exceptions, including possible damage or count discrepancies.
  3. Move materials safely, including hazardous materials if certified, utilizing appropriate handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other devices.
  4. Operate company vehicles such as forklifts and over-the-road trucks to pick up and deliver materials, supplies, and products.
  5. Ensure safe operation of vehicles, including completing pre-trip inspections, maintaining vehicle logs, and ensuring vehicles are up to date on maintenance and inspections.
  6. Provide training and assistance to less experienced drivers to ensure knowledge and skills are maintained.
  7. Familiarize with routes, understand vehicle specifications, and follow customer instructions for pickups and drop-offs.
  8. Carry and maintain safety equipment and reference materials such as the Emergency Guidebook and local maps.
  9. Coordinate with dispatch and management regarding routes, stops, and any issues encountered.
  10. Maintain accurate logs, record discrepancies, and report issues promptly.
  11. Ensure proper loading and unloading procedures, including securing loads and verifying cargo.
  12. Transport hazardous materials safely, including checking labels and placards, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
  13. Maintain inventory of equipment and tools used for the job.
  14. Adhere to all legal and safety requirements, including maintaining logs and vehicle records.
  15. Drive professionally, obey traffic laws, and keep equipment in good condition.
  16. Obtain and maintain required certifications, including a US "Secret" clearance and HAZMAT endorsement.
Additional Details
  • This is an IUE Union represented position.
  • This is a 1st shift position.
Requirements

Education: High School graduate or recognized equivalent

Experience: Valid state-issued Driver's license with a current CDL "A" endorsement and previous experience with driving commercial vehicles. Skills will be demonstrated via a structured interview.
