Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a dependable Warehouse Worker to handle customer interactions and operate forklifts at our Springfield facility. You will load/unload containers, assist customers with dispatch systems, and conduct pre/post-delivery inspections of U-Box containers.

Responsibilities include timely deliveries, documentation management, facility upkeep, and ongoing training through U-Haul University. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to comply with local/state and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

• Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers onto and off truck beds for delivery to and from a storage facility.
• Ensure timely delivery.
• Provide customer assistance, including the sale of support items and use of online dispatch and rental systems.
• Perform customer-ready inspections of U‑Box containers prior to dispatch and upon return.
• Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pickup of goods.
• Ensure that the warehouse storage facility is clean, dry and secure.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Warehouse Worker Primary Responsibilities:

Warehouse Worker Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
• Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
