Job summary

U-Haul is hiring Warehouse Workers in East New Market, MD to interact with customers and ensure timely, accurate service. The role involves operating forklifts, loading/unloading containers, assisting customers with rentals and online systems, and maintaining safe, organized storage facilities.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and adherence to all driving regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
• Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

Responsibilities

• Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers onto and off truck beds for delivery to and from a storage facility.
• Ensure timely delivery and provide customer assistance, including the sale of support items and use of online dispatch and rental systems.
• Perform customer-ready inspections of U-Box containers prior to dispatch and upon return.
• Prepare, receive and provide documentation for delivery or pickup of goods.
• Maintain a clean, dry and secure warehouse storage facility.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Warehouse Worker Primary Responsibilities:

Warehouse Worker Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
• Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
