Job summary

SmartConnect Qatar is seeking a skilled Typesetter to join our publishing team on a contract basis. You will apply typography and layout expertise to create visually appealing digital and print materials.

Work with editors and designers to format books, brochures, magazines, and marketing materials; proofread for grammar, punctuation, and formatting; manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. This remote contract can be performed from anywhere in Canada, with a competitive salary of $1200

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Typesetter to join our publishing team on a contract basis. As a Typesetter you will be responsible for using your expertise in typography and layout to create visually appealing and error-free digital and print materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with our editors and designers to typeset various documents including books, brochures, magazines and other marketing materials.
• Utilize your knowledge of design principles and industry standards to create attractive layouts that enhance the readability of the content.
• Proofread and edit typeset materials for accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation and formatting.
• Collaborate with authors to ensure their vision is accurately translated into the final product.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Typesetter or similar role.
• Proficiency in typography layout design, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Office Suite, Word and other relevant software.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent grasp of grammar rules.
• Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Salary

• This is a contract position that can be done remotely from anywhere in Canada.
• We offer a competitive salary of $1200 per month.
