Sylvania is seeking a Driver to transport students safely to and from school and special events. The role includes duties like performing vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness, and obeying all traffic laws.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, valid Minnesota Driver’s License, and experience operating automotive equipment. A commercial driver’s license with school bus endorsement is preferred.
Performs intermediate semi-skilled and manual work driving a school bus or van, picking up and delivering students to/from school, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Transportation Assistant.

General knowledge of the operation of a school bus or van; general knowledge of the geography of the City/County and the location of streets; skill in the safe operation of a school bus or van; ability to detect malfunctioning equipment; ability to assist children using patience and understanding; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, associates, students and the general public.
A high school diploma or GED, a valid Minnesota Driver’s License, an insurable driving record, experience operating automotive equipment, and health certification is required. The ability to pass a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Background Check is required.
A commercial driver’s license with school bus endorsement is preferred and may be required for some driving positions.
