Job summary

Tyler Coupling, Marshfield, MO, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support plant accounting and the Plant Controller. The role involves month-end close, internal controls, and collaboration with AP, Purchasing, and the corporate D365 team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance; 10+ years experience if no degree.
• 3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial statement understanding.
• Able to work extended hours during close, budgets, audits.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to read financial reports and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Tyler Coupling, a division of McWane LLC., is seeking a Staff Accountant to work at the Marshfield, MO location. The Staff Accountant will assist in the accounting functions of the plant as well as assist the Plant Controller.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash accounts, and oversee the monthly account reconciliation process through completion.
• Partner with accounts payable, purchasing, and the corporate D365 implementation support team to test and implement D365 enhancements, including invoice approvals, payment workflows, vendor onboarding, and exception reporting to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist the Controller with month-end close activities and financial reporting processes.
• Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit requests.
• Prepare, maintain, and update departmental procedures and standard work documentation for Controller review and approval.
• Process and review accounts payable transactions as backup support to ensure continuity of operations.
• Investigate questionable data, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to resolve issues and improve data accuracy.
• Assist with quarterly and annual Sales and Use Tax reporting requirements.
• Assist with the annual preparation, filing, and distribution of 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms.
• Ensure compliance with established accounting standards, company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of proven experience will be considered
• 3-5 years accounting or business-related experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Understanding of Financial Statements, Journal Entries, and GAAP
• Flexible and willing to work extended hours during month-end, budgeting, audits, and other peak periods.
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to read and understand financial reports and technical documents.
