The Goddard School in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking a reliable Twos Classroom Teacher to join our team of teachers. Teachers write and implement their own lesson plans based on Developmental Guidelines and studies based on student interests, creating a positive learning environment where children develop a lifelong love of learning.

Lead teachers coordinate daily operations, plan and evaluate activities for childcare, and work closely with children and parents to provide quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Psychology or related field OR proof of current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Associate's or CDA Credentialing Program
• 1–2 years of previous experience preferred
• Strong work ethic and communication skills
• Positive attitude and inherent love for young children
• Meets background check eligibility

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
• Creating and implementing fun lesson plans geared towards educational success and based on developmental guidelines
• Plan and implement appropriate classroom activities with other member(s) of teaching team. Plan individualized activities to meet the needs of children
• Submit lesson plans for review in a timely manner with an experienced team enabling you to showcase your strengths and creativity
• Establishing a home-school connection and positive family relations through interactive communication with parents
• Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning
• Responsible for the overall classroom management, creating a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment
• Encourage creativity through art, music, dramatic play and blocks
• Provide a reasonable balance between teacher-directed and child-directed activities
