Job summary

Qualifications

• Reads product specs and process instructions to maintain standards.
• Prepares and maintains yarn/twister operations per training and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tend to machines grouped in a frame that twists yarn.
• Reposition yarn buggies and stage tubes for winding operations.
• Thread yarn ends, operate spindles, and repair breakouts during production runs.
• Doff twisted yarn packages and move them to conveyers or containers.
• Monitor production output and machine safety for efficient operation.
• Clean spindles and perform routine maintenance to sustain efficiency.
• Perform quality checks using process controls and light-based testing.
• Follow all SOPs and safety procedures; adhere to company policies.
• Participate in training sessions as required by supervision.
• Assist with general housekeeping and other tasks as assigned by management.

• Set up, operate, and tend to many machines organized into a frame that twist yarn together.

Major Function and Scope:

• Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister
• Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation
• Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs
• Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container
• Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation
• Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements
• Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Knowledge, Experience, Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successful completion of all required on the job training
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
• Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred

Competencies:

• Operate in a team-based environment
• Basic math skills
• Deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
• Read spec sheets or product information

• May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
