Mohawk Industries, Inc. is seeking a Yarn Twister Operator to set up, operate, and tend to frames that twist yarns in a manufacturing environment. You will manage yarn loading, spindles, and quality checks while adhering to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining machine efficiency, performing routine maintenance, and participating in on-the-job training. Experience in yarn or manufacturing is preferred; high school diploma required.

• Successful completion of required on the job training.
• Health and environmental safety training completed.

Responsabilidades

• Set up, operate, and tend to machines that twist yarn into frames.
• Creel and load yarn into twister; reposition buggies and stage tubes for winding.
• Thread yarns, operate spindle, repair breakouts during production runs.
• Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer to conveyer to buggy.
• Monitor production output and machine safety; maintain efficiency.
• Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine performance.
• Perform quality checks using black lights to verify yarn.
• Attend job-related trainings as directed by supervision.
• Follow SOPs and safety procedures; uphold company policies.
• Perform general housekeeping and other tasks assigned by management.

Primary Objective:

In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.

• Set up, operate, and tend to many machines organized into a frame that twist yarn together.

Major Function and Scope:

Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

• Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister
• Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation
• Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs
• Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container
• Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation
• Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements
• Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn
• Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Years of Experience and Knowledge:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successful completion of all required on the job training
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
• Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:

• May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment
• Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures
