Job summary

Engineered Floors, LLC is seeking a Twister Operator to supply the twisting machine with raw fiber, patrol and monitor processes, and ensure product quality. You will remove twisted product and place it on buggies or boxes as directed.

Responsibilities include following safety and quality guidelines, handling raw yarn buggies, verifying labels, doingff scheduling, tying creel yarn with Weaver's Knot, refilling yarn, and keeping area clean at shift end.

Qualifications

  • Read and follow written instructions accurately.
  • Effective communication is needed.
  • Standing for long shifts and manual handling requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Safety, Plant & Quality Guidelines.
  • Acquire Raw Yarn Buggy from that machine’s bullpen; do not pull yarn from neighboring machines.
  • Verify the case label with the spec sheet for that machine.
  • Doff the TNH packages according to the doff schedule posted on each machine.
  • Remove the remaining package from the bucket and place it in the adjacent creel.
  • Tie the creel yarn using a Weaver's Knot with ¼” to ½” tails.
  • Refill the bucket with Raw Yarn from the Raw Yarn Buggy for that machine.
  • Replace empty yarn tubes with replacement packages of yarn.
  • Compare every tube’s merge # to the spec sheet as you place them in the bucket.
  • Put tube caps on raw yarn in creel if specified on the spec sheet.
  • Repair and restart immediately any position that breaks out.
  • Keep every position running at all times unless you are working on it.
  • Tag any position that needs repair.
  • Remove TNH yarn from the conveyor.
  • Place the TNH yarn on a buggy or pack it in a box as the spec sheet and/or the supervisor's instructed.
  • Clean your assignment and work area toward the end of each shift.

Performance Expectations (if Applicable)


  • Follow printed & spoken instructions & specifications effectively.

  • Able to stand for long periods.

  • Hand dexterity sufficient to handle packages and operate splicer or tie weavers’ knots as specified.

  • Able to lift & place numerous 12-20 lb. packages per shift.

  • Aptitude to pass a color vision test if needed



Experience/Education Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Read & Write Instructions effectively.

  • Effective communication skills



Other Requirements


  • Ability to work overtime.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

  • All accidents must be reported immediately.
