Job summary

Glen Raven in Burlington, NC seeks a twister operator to twist yarn packages per training manual and safety standards. You will support production, ensure quality, and prepare yarn from the doubler for end products and shipping, working on a 12-hour night shift.

Candidate must read and follow instructions, perform basic math, work in a team, and stay safety-focused while maintaining production targets.

Responsibilities

  • Follow policies and safe work practices to prevent injuries.
  • Report unsafe conditions or injuries to your supervisor immediately.
  • Start-up machines after lot changes or cleaning.
  • Obtain packages of doubled yarn from rack and place into pots.
  • Repair end breaks and splice ends as needed.
  • Doff packages and remove waste from spindle discard area.
  • Mark cones with assigned color and perform quality checks.
  • Identify quality or productivity issues and flag damaged machinery.

Operate the twister machine to twist packages of yarn according to the operator training manual and safety standards. This position adds value to Glen Raven by their commitment to achieve the highest level of production, quality and safety as well as teamwork when preparing yarn, received from the doubler, to be twisted into an end product and shipped.

  • Follow company policies, safe work practices, prevent injury to yourself and other associates
  • Report any unsafe work condition or any work related injury to your supervisor immediately

  • Obtain packages of doubled yarn from rack
  • Place packages of doubled yarn into pots

  • Perform quality checks and recognize potential quality and productivity problems
  • Flag any damaged machinery and document in flag notebook located at computer desk
