Job summary

Nyman Associates is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide itinerant services to students with vision needs across Georgia. This role supports IEP goals, Braille instruction, and orientation & mobility, delivering individualized lessons in various school settings.

As a trusted education partner, the position offers collaboration with Clinical Leads, clinical directors, and families to promote inclusion and student success, with experience and GaDOE certification

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Georgia certification for TVI.
• Experience with vision impairments and/or blindness preferred.
• Ability to work as part of an IEP team.

Responsibilities

• Providing itinerant vision-related education services to students with blindness or visual impairments.
• Delivering individualized instruction, including Braille and orientation & mobility skills.
• Assessing student needs and developing appropriate learning materials and accommodations.
• Adapting curriculum, classroom environments, and materials to ensure accessibility.
• Being an active IEP team member, writing goals, and monitoring progress.
• Maintaining records and submitting required reports to schools and families.
• Collaborating with teachers, service providers, and families to support inclusion and student success.
