Job summary

Sonja Biggs Educational Services Inc. seeks a dual-credential TVI and O&M Specialist to support birth through age 21 students with visual impairments. You will blend vision education and mobility to promote independence in authentic settings.

Role requires CA VI and O&M credentials, experience with CVI and diverse needs, and a collaborative, flexible approach. Travel within communities may be involved, with strong teamwork and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• California VI credential required and O&M credential preferred.
• Experience working with students with visual impairments is required.
• Experience with CVI, complex access needs, and/or deafblindness is valued.
• 1 year of teaching experience required; 1 year of special education experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive) and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct TVI and O&M services to students with visual impairments.
• Develop individualized services aligned with IEP/IFSP goals.
• Conduct assessments and recommend visual access, accommodations, and assistive technology.
• Address ECC and independence skills in instruction.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and other educational professionals.
• Participate in IEP/IFSP meetings and goal setting.
• Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
• Grow professionally through ongoing learning and collaboration.
