Job summary

Habitat For Humanity Of Durham is actively seeking driven and caring educators to join our team as reading/writing and/or math tutors. This dynamic role focuses on helping students who face educational challenges by implementing Hill's proven methodology.

Successful candidates will provide a minimum of 8-10 hours of instruction per week, enjoying extensive training, mentoring, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Tutoring occurs year-round with supplies provided, and the starting pay is $35/hour.

Qualifications

  • Driven and caring educators with experience in K-8 instruction.
  • Minimum of 8-10 hours per week of instruction availability.
  • Familiarity with Orton-Gillingham Methodology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reading/writing and/or math tutoring to K-8 students.
  • Implement Hill’s proven methodology during sessions.
  • Support and mentor students to build academic confidence.

About the Role

Hill Tutoring is seeking driven and caring educators to join our team as reading/writing and/or math tutors. Our tutoring focuses on core skills and works toward building skill mastery. This is a dynamic opportunity to help students who face educational challenges and to improve their academic confidence. Applicants should be student focused and enthusiastic about implementing Hill’s proven methodology. We are seeking tutors who can provide a minimum of 8‑10 hours per week of instruction.
