Position Overview

As a Private Instructor/Ensemble Instructor, your responsibilities include:

1. Assessing student levels in areas such as Music Reading, Technique, Rhythmic Accuracy, Hand/Finger position, Tone Production, Musical Interpretation, Articulation, Sight Reading, Rudiments, etc.
2. Identifying strengths and weaknesses, selecting appropriate literature, and guiding students on where to find music.
3. Understanding student or ensemble goals, developing plans, and periodically reviewing progress.
4. Maintaining records of assignments and student performance.
5. Providing clear instructions, listening attentively, and offering constructive feedback.

Administrative Duties

1. Check mailbox regularly and maintain accurate attendance records.
2. Complete evaluations and update personal information as needed.
3. Submit timesheets punctually.

Outreach and Performance

1. Participate in outreach events and community activities.
2. Encourage student participation in recitals and faculty concerts.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Attend faculty meetings and assist the area chair as needed.
2. Collaborate with colleagues for professional development.
3. Engage in masterclasses, workshops, and recitals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Performance, or related fields.
• Experience teaching private lessons and leading ensembles.
• Participation in recognized music organizations is preferred.
• Suzuki certification is a plus.
