Job summary

The University of Michigan-Dearborn's Math Learning Center is seeking a part-time Tutor II to provide drop-in tutoring for mathematics up to MATH 228, in-person and virtual formats.

Responsibilities include proctoring exams, signing students into the MLC, attending training, and assisting with coordinator projects. Work mode is hybrid at the department's discretion.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must successfully complete a tutor content assessment.
  • Applicants must be recommended by a faculty member who can attest to mathematical ability.
  • Applicants must have completed up to MATH 114 Calc II or MATH 116 Calculus II with high B/A range.
  • Applicants must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.

Tutors provide drop-in assistance to students in both in-person and virtual formats.## Required Qualifications\*Required Qualifications* Applicants must successfully complete a tutor content assessment* Applicants must be recommended by a faculty member who can attest to the applicant's mathematical ability* Applicants must have completed up to MATH 114 Calc II for Biology & Life Sci or MATH 116 Calculus II with course grade in the high B/A range* Applicants must have and are required to maintain a GPA of at least 3.0Preferred Experience? Completion of 200 level and above math courses with course grade in the high B/A range? Completion of statistics courses with course grade in the high B/A range? Prior tutoring or teaching experience? Prior customer service experience?
