Job summary

TOPEKA PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking a part-time Academic Enrichment Assistant to support student learning in a daycare setting after school. You will provide individual and small-group instruction under a lead teacher and help review instructional materials to reinforce learning.

The role requires 2–10 hours per week, with the possibility of extra time on late-start days; Spanish language ability is a plus, and familiarity with CCSS and differentiated instruction is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Available to commit 2-10 hours per week and not exceed 40 hours total.
• Available to work an extra hour on late-start school days.
• Knowledge of CCSS, technology, remediation/enrichment activities.
• Willing to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Spanish speaking/understanding is a plus.

Job description

Reports To: Administrator/Program Coordinator

Position Purpose: Provide academic enrichment to improve student learning in a daycare setting

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Must be reliable and punctual and able to commit to 2-10 hours per week, not to exceed a 40 hour work week (e.g., hours are added to current hours and can not exceed 40 total hours per week)
• Must be available to work an extra hour on school days in which school begin later in the morning
• Knowledgeable about CCSS, technology, remediation/enrichment activities, and children and be willing to meet the individual academic needs of children through differentiated approaches
• Know and understand District policies and procedures
• Speaking and understanding Spanish is a plus
