Job summary

TOPEKA PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking an after-school tutor to provide individual or small group instruction under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role emphasizes differentiating instruction to meet each student’s academic needs and to support enrichment activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable of technology, remediation/enrichment activities, and children.
• Willingness to meet the individual academic needs of children through differentiated approaches.
• Knowledgeable about District policies and procedures.
• Speaking and understanding Spanish is a plus.
• Note (11-19-21): For new hires, the daily hours would not exceed 5 and the weekly hours would not exceed 25.

Position Purpose

Provide academic enrichment to improve student learning

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age
• Must be reliable and punctual and able to commit to 2-10 hours per week not to exceed a 40 hour work week (e.g., hours are added to current hours and can not exceed 40 total hours per week)
• Knowledgeable of technology, remediation/enrichment activities, and children

Willingness to meet the individual academic needs of children through differentiated approaches

• Knowledgeable about and understand District policies and procedures
• Speaking and understanding Spanish is a plus

NOTE (11-19-21): For new hires, the daily hours would not exceed 5 and the weekly hours would not exceed 25.
