Job summary

Spring Branch ISD is seeking a part-time Certified Tutor responsible for delivering small group and individualized services to identified students in areas of math, reading, and science. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a valid Texas Teacher Certificate.

This role requires excellent communication skills, a minimum of three years of experience working with children, and the ability to establish professional relationships within the school community.

Participate in faculty meetings, maintain student records, and foster a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Certification must meet requirements as per Federal and/or State law.

• Title: Tutor - Certified - (Part-Time)
• Reports To: Principal
• Classification: Professional - NC
• Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
• Days: 188 days (Flexible, 8 hours per week)
• Daily/Hourly Rate: $30.00 per hour

Qualifications

Education/Certification

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position required.
• Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of procedures, student appraisal and career development.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional Strategies

• Provide small group / individualized instruction using literacy, math, and science strategies and materials.
• Participate in collegial dialogue sessions with teachers regarding student progress.
• Maintain accurate records on each child as a basis for instruction.

Communication

• Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members.
• Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Professional Growth and Development

• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Keep informed of and comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
• Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerizes reports, records and other documents required.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Other

• Perform other duties as assigned.
