Job summary

Huntington Learning Center Kingwood in Kingwood, TX is seeking a part-time on-site Tutor to support K–12 students with core subjects and test prep. You will review evaluation results, implement customized lesson plans, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to students and families.

Qualifications

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Tutor role based at Huntington Learning Center Kingwood in Kingwood, TX. The Tutor will provide individualized and small-group instruction to K–12 students in core academic subjects and test preparation programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing student evaluation results, implementing customized lesson plans, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback to students and families. The Tutor will maintain accurate records, collaborate with center staff to support student success, and follow Huntington’s instructional methods and curriculum. Additional duties may include preparing instructional materials, supporting a positive learning environment, and contributing to student retention and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required (Degree in Education, English, Math, Science, or a related field preferred).
• Strong subject knowledge in Reading, Writing, Math, or Science, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to K–12 students.
• Experience or interest in SAT, ACT, and standardized test preparation, including familiarity with test formats and strategies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and maintain professional relationships with families and colleagues.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple students, lesson plans, and progress tracking efficiently.
• Patience, adaptability, and a student-centered approach to working with diverse learning styles and academic levels.
• Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience in an educational setting is preferred. Ability to work part-time, on-site in Kingwood, TX, with consistent attendance and reliability.
