Job summary

Methode Electronics is seeking a CNC Turret Punch Press Operator for second shift. You will set up, program, and operate turret punch equipment to fabricate sheet metal parts from flat stock, with attention to tolerances and quality.

The role includes routine maintenance, inspection, and safety compliance. Responsibilities include first-time setup for new products, reading blueprints, and performing manual production tasks such as loading stock and deburring finished parts.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2+ years of experience setting up and operating machines, or 0 years with additional training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • U.S. export control ITAR eligibility required.
  • Must be available for second shift hours (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) including overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and changeover CNC turret punch press equipment to produce required products.
  • Perform first-time setup for new products through programming, profiling, and adjustments.
  • Operate equipment to meet production and quality goals; adjust outputs as needed.
  • Conduct manual production operations: load/unload stock, deburr parts.
  • Inspect outputs with calipers, micrometers, gauges to ensure specifications.
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance per manuals or instructions.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with safety rules.
  • Desirable forklift experience or certification ability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary:

Performs set-up, operation, and minor maintenance of CNC turret punch press equipment in assigned work area to fabricate sheet metal components from flat stock.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC turret punch press equipment to produce the required product or components by making mechanical adjustments (tooling, dies) to meet product specifications
  • Perform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, profiling, and mechanical/software adjustments
  • Operate equipment to achieve production requirements and quality goals. Make minor adjustments to correct machine output as needed
  • Perform manual production operations as required, e.g., load and unload sheet metal stock, stage and deburr finished parts
  • Use of calipers, micrometers, gauges to inspect machine output to verify proper part configuration and workmanship standards are being met
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or maintenance work instruction
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules
  • Forklift experience desired or ability to get/maintain forklift certification
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Due to U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR), applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or otherwise qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62). Employment is contingent upon verification of eligibility to access export-controlled information.
  • Must be available to work second shift core hours (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM), including overtime and weekend hours as needed to support production requirements.

  • 1-2+ years of experience setting up and operating machines, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification
  • Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $18.14 - $24.48 hourly.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
