Job summary

Blackfield Associates is partnering with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer to recruit a Turnover Coordinator for an Indiana-based project on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on managing turnover packages and ensuring timely, compliant handover of systems from construction to operations.

You will work cross-functionally with construction, engineering, commissioning, quality, and contractor teams, maintaining documentation control and traceability within the project’s EDS.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in turnover coordination, construction, commissioning, project controls, document management, or related functions in regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of turnover processes including documentation review and systems turnover.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparation, coordination, tracking, and delivery of turnover packages for system handover.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, commissioning, quality, and contractor teams to ensure documentation aligns with milestones.
• Review and compile turnover docs such as P&IDs, redlines, punch lists, test records, calibration docs, and vendor docs.
• Maintain turnover tracking systems and provide status updates on readiness and gaps.
• Escalate documentation risks and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory expectations.

Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer to support their search for a Turnover Coordinator to join their project based in Indiana on an initial 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation, coordination, tracking, and delivery of turnover packages supporting the transition of systems from construction to commissioning, qualification, and operations.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, commissioning, quality, and contractor teams to ensure turnover documentation is complete, accurate, and delivered in accordance with project milestones.
• Review and compile turnover documentation including P&IDs, redline drawings, punch lists, test records, calibration certificates, material certificates, inspection records, and vendor documentation.
• Maintain turnover tracking systems and databases, providing regular status updates on package readiness, documentation gaps, schedule risks, and outstanding actions.
• Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely resolution of turnover-related deficiencies and missing documentation.
• Verify turnover packages meet project quality standards, GMP requirements, and regulatory expectations prior to handover.
• Support mechanical completion, system walkdowns, punch-list reviews, and turnover readiness assessments.
• Ensure turnover documentation is properly controlled, indexed, stored, and maintained within the project's electronic document management system.
• Identify and escalation documentation risks, discrepancies, and non-conformances that could impact commissioning, qualification, or project schedules.
• Support turnover strategy development, system boundary management, and turnover sequencing activities.
• Facilitate the transfer of documentation and records between construction, commissioning, qualification, and operations teams, ensuring full traceability and document control.

Experience Required

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Sufficient experience in turnover coordination, construction, commissioning, project controls, document management, or related project delivery functions within regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of construction completion, commissioning, qualification, and system turnover processes.
• Experience reviewing and managing engineering and construction documentation including P&IDs, test records, calibration documentation, and turnover dossiers.
• Familiarity with document control systems and turnover management platforms such as Kahua, Procore, Aconex, or similar systems.
• Knowledge of GMP documentation requirements and pharmaceutical regulatory expectations preferred.
• Experience supporting commissioning and qualification activities for process equipment, utilities, HVAC, or manufacturing systems is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation across multiple systems simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across engineering, construction, quality, CQV, and operations teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project document management platforms.
• Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP-regulated capital projects, including greenfield or brownfield facilities, is highly desirable.
