Role and Responsibilities

1. Install or replace split system or packaged HVAC systems up to 20 tons.
2. Fabricate and install piping associated with installations, including soldering and brazing (copper, steel, brass).
3. Install gas lines, condensate lines and pumps, water lines.
4. Install sheet metal and flex duct systems in light commercial buildings.
5. Measure, modify, and install ductwork.
6. Complete HVAC system installations, including demo, startup, and documentation.
7. Start up and verify system performance.
8. Recover, secure electrically, and demo existing equipment as needed.
9. Verify leak-free operation, test, and check system functionality.
10. Diagnose and repair system deficiencies found at startup.
11. Maintain records of installation, startup, and warranty activities.
12. Use hand tools, interpret drawings and plans to install and test systems.
13. Identify HVAC equipment and components accurately.
14. Understand refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, control systems, and airflow in unitary systems.
15. Adhere to mechanical, sheet metal, and piping codes.
16. Identify and recommend repairs.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Experience in residential or light commercial split-system installations.
2. Ability to recover, evacuate, and recharge systems.
3. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
4. Own hand tools required.
5. Successful background check and drug test.
6. Flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends.
7. HVAC technical training completed or in progress (Community College, OJT, Military training).
8. Possession or ability to obtain Universal Certification.
9. Physical ability to perform required tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., working in various environments, and physical demands listed.
10. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

Exposure to weather, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, electrical hazards, chemicals, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and high places.
