Job summary

Acumed LLC in Addison, TX is seeking a Machinist who will set up and operate turning machines, including Lathes and Swiss Lathes, to produce precision parts.

Under supervision, you will monitor tools, inspect surfaces, document quality, perform setup, and mentor junior machinists while collaborating with process engineers to improve cell performance.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years related Acumed experience, or 3-5 years external experience.
  • Tooling U completion and/or Machining Classes enrollment.
  • Mastery of Level 1 competencies on Acumed Machinist Career Ladder.
  • Set-up competency on cell-specific machine tools.
  • Troubleshooting skills and basic programming understanding.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • English reading/speaking sufficient for documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machine tools to maintain quality, cost and delivery.
  • Run turning machines, including Lathes and Swiss Lathes.
  • Start and observe machine operation for faults or out-of-tolerance work.
  • Visually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
  • Maintain work area, empty chip bins, and clean equipment.
  • Document quality practices and machine performance.
  • Perform general set-ups for maximum utilization.
  • Mentor and train Machinist 1.
  • Troubleshoot with Senior Machinist or Process Engineers.
