Job summary

Acumed LLC is seeking a Machinist to set up and operate turning machines, lathes and Swiss lathes to produce precision parts. First shift 5:00AM–3:30PM, Monday–Thursday. You will load/unload, inspect surfaces and help improve cell processes under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of Acumed experience or 3–5 years external and a High School diploma, basic math, and English proficiency. Training through Tooling U or machining classes is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years related Acumed experience, or 3–5 years external experience.
• Completion of Tooling U and/or enrollment in Machining Classes, or equivalent.
• Mastery of Level 1 competencies on Acumed Machinist Career Ladder and Qualifications.
• Demonstrated set-up competency on Cell-specific Machine Tools, with acceptable results.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Operate and maintain turning machines, including Lathes and Swiss Lathes.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Visually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required and assist in cell process improvements.
