Qualifications

A Turnaround Outage Planner plays a crucial role in managing the planning, scheduling, and executing planned maintenance events, such as shutdowns, turnarounds, or outages (STO). These events are essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery during these shutdown events.

What will you do:

  • Supports collaborative outage and TAR work scope identification and ensures proper coding and categorization of the work orders.
  • Utilizes the Oracle EAM ERP system to manage outage and TAR work orders through the work management work processes including work backlog management, planning, forecasting, managing bill of materials, managing standard and PM job plans, work execution, execution feedback, follow-up work, and tracking asset history and costs.
  • Plans outage and TAR related Work Orders by analyzing required job steps, determining their relative sequence and dependencies, identifying parts and materials, equipment requirements, special tools and skills, and estimates personnel requirements for each step.
  • Participate and support in Management of Change (MOC) process and supporting activities and documentation.
  • Ensure Short Notice Outage Work (SNOW) is effectively managed and ready to work in the event of unplanned outages.
  • Maximize the utilization of resources, equipment, and materials through the coordination of schedules with operating and maintenance areas and between crafts.
  • Orders necessary material from the warehouse and verifies the availability via the ERP system. Works with Warehouse personnel to procure parts and materials that are out of stock.
  • Able to coach peers on Planning and Scheduling leading practices.
  • Leverage work execution feedback and post job reviews of actual work performed and materials used compared to plan and refines planning and standard job plans.
  • Supports post outage assessments, identification of lessons learned, implementation of improvement opportunities.

What will you bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 4+ years of pipe/mechanical or electrical/instrument planning and scheduling experience.
  • 2+ years of technical trade education preferred.
  • Oracle EAM or similar ERP or CMMS experience.
  • Trained Primavera P6 scheduler preferred.
  • Willingness to be on a call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and willingness to participate in weekend and holiday coverage.
