Job summary

Shaw Industries Group is seeking a technically minded Department Manager for Turf Manufacturing in Adairsville, GA. You will lead a multi-shift team of 60+ through safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The role requires strong leadership, problem solving, and collaboration with engineering and operations. You will optimize lines, support startup of Line 3, and partner with Technical Development to translate product specs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience leading manufacturing teams and operations.
• Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with hourly and salaried staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-shift manufacturing team of 60+ including hourly associates and leaders.
• Set department goals and drive safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and people development.
• Develop a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Coach leaders and staff with regular feedback and development plans.
• Address employee concerns and performance issues promptly and fairly.
• Develop technical understanding of processes; lead downtime, equipment, and quality troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Technical Development, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations on improvements.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma projects and data-driven problem solving.
• Support line startup, stabilization, and optimization of new equipment.
• Create and maintain standard work, procedures, process docs, specs, and root-cause analyses.
• Translate graphics and product specs into manufacturing requirements with accuracy.
• Set production priorities and schedules to meet customer expectations.
• Forge partnerships across operations and other facilities to ensure performance.
