Job summary

Shoppa's + John Deere is seeking a John Deere turf technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain turf products such as lawn mowers and gators. You will follow manuals and use special tools, reporting to the service manager and ensuring safe, timely service.

• 2+ years of experience performing service repairs.
• Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in turf equipment.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to lift at least 50+ lbs. repeatedly.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs a high level of service on all makes of John Deere turf equipment.
• Perform reconditioning and repair of all machine systems and components.
• Coordinates with Service Manager to establish and implement effective processes for turf services offered through dealership-specific service programs.
• Report work required with the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customer.
• Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair or other service concerns with the customer if needed and documents on work order.
• Participates in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge as directed by the service manager.
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.

Job description

The John Deere turf technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of turf products such as lawn mowers, John Deere gators and other consumer products. This technician will report to the service manager, and all work shall be completed in a safe, professional, and timely manner. The technician must be able to diagnose the failure mode, using the appropriate technical manual procedures or online computer manuals and special tools. Additionally, the technician must be able to perform complete component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning, following technical procedures.

Responsibilities:

o Performs a high level of service on all makes of John Deere turf equipment

o Perform reconditioning and repair of all machine systems and components

o Coordinates with Service Manager to establish and implement effective processes for all turf services offered through dealership specific service programs
