Position Summary
- Daily maintenance of all equipment used to maintain the golf course and grounds. Troubleshooting and repairing equipment when needed. Assist with mowing and other course maintenance. In the off-season, service all equipment and grind mower reels and bed-knives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance of equipment including but not limited to:
- Checking fluid levels and tire pressure on equipment daily
- Checking height and quality of cut on reel-mowers and making adjustments accordingly.
- Grinding reels and bed-knives when needed
- Maintaining service records of all equipment
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment when necessary
- Performing preventative maintenance on all equipment and grinding all reels and bed-knives in the off-season
- Assisting with mowing and other course maintenance when not needed in the shop
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including evenings/weekends
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to:
- Read and write (English)
- Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers with or without the use of two-way radios
- Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions
- Visually inspect all work areas, golf course, and grounds
- Operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time
- Retrieve, read, and interpret information from technical sources
- Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend, and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time
- Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly
Working Conditions
- Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather,potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, and sharp/rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may be sustained as a result of exposure to the previously stated circumstancesif safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
