Plant Health Care Technician | Near North Shore (Wheeling), IL

Join the team as a Plant Health Care Technician at The Davey Tree Expert Company in Wheeling, IL. This role involves performing fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs, and lawns using spray and injection tools.

Position Overview

Responsible for diagnosing and treating insect, weed, and fungal issues, and educating clients about pest control and fertilization services. Monitors plant health and communicates progress to clients and supervisors. Operates and maintains equipment such as trucks and sprayers.

Qualifications
  • Love of the outdoors
  • Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping
  • Preferred: Knowledge of turf, weed, tree ID, pathology, and plant physiology
  • Ability to complete Davey Tree training programs and certifications, including First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Relevant pesticide licenses or certificates, if required by law
