Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced shop professional to perform assembly and disassembly operations on gas turbine engines and related sub-assemblies.

You will work from engineering drawings, standard work, and team practices to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires 2+ years of mechanical/turbomachinery experience, ability to read micrometers, and flexibility to rotate shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade certificate is required.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on mechanical/turbomachinery experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate shop equipment and inspection tools (micrometers).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions written in English.
• Flexible to change shifts during peak production times.
• Lifting up to 25 lbs and frequent movement of parts.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly/disassembly operations for gas turbine engines and related components per standards.
• Follow standard work instructions, drawings, and shop practices.
• Recognize when engineering support is needed for non-conforming procedures.
• Maintain training binder and records.
• Ensure proper documentation per Quality Management System (QMS).
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace and promote Solar's 5S culture.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals.
